Most products use organic or natural in their names as marketing gimmicks. Take a look at their ingredients list and you’ll see that they have only 1 or 2 natural extracts near the end of a long list of chemicals. They can add just 1 drop of olive oil into a 1 litre bottle and call it “Natural Olive Oil Shampoo”.
At The Soap Haven, when something is called “all natural”, it means it is made of ALL natural ingredients. When anything bears the label “organic”, it means the product is made of at least 85% organic ingredients. Why not 100%? Because it is impossible to make soap without sodium hydroxide which is 10-15% of the initial ingredient weight. However by the time the oils are saponified, there is no more sodium hydroxide left in the soap.
These Handmade Soaps contain NO genetically modified oils (GMO). Buy with confidence that you are not supporting the “engineered food industry”. Simply Google: “Genetically Modified Foods” and see for yourself if you feel comfortable supporting the GMO industry.
Our organic and plant-based olive oil soap uses organic, sustainable palm that does not cause deforestation in tropical regions. Palm oil is necessary to make a harder, stable bar of soap that is preferred by most people. Over the past years, “bio-diesel” (and the need for edible non-hydrogenated oils) has created a huge demand for palm oil. Palm oil is only harvested significantly in tropical rainforest regions like in Indonesia and thus the problem. Demand for palm oil has led to more deforestation using burn and slash methods by farmers who want to make a quick buck. The results are catastrophic - destruction of natural habitats and tremendous pollution with HAZE in our air!!!
Organic, non-GMO palm oil however is renewable and sustainable. While using sustainable palm oil is more costly, it helps fight against the “palm thirsty” industry which causes more deforestation and pollutes the land and our air!
This soap is 100% natural and contains no parabens, sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS/SLES), unnatural preservatives, or petrol-chemical ingredients.

Our soap bars last about 40-50 washes and for about four weeks (based on an average person who showers once a day). It all depends on your personal routine, how you store the soap, as well as the size of bar you purchase — obviously, larger ones last longer. Even the amount of natural oils in the soap can affect its lifespan, but three-to-four weeks is a good estimate.
Fun fact — we have a customer who has been using one bar of Tea Tree Soap for her face twice a day, and it has lasted over a year!
Soap don’t really have an expiry date, but how you store them can extend or shorten the “expiry”.
For a bar you’re actively using, we recommend you purchase the Bamboo Charcoal Soap Pouch or our Naturally Anti-Mould Pinewood Soap Dish. This extends the lifespan of your soap by draining water after use and preventing it from becoming slimy and soft in a puddle of water.
You should keep unused bars out of humidity, so we don’t recommend storing them in the bathroom where steam can damage the soap’s integrity. This will prevent moisture getting into the soap so it will last longer — up to one year!
No, not at the moment. Liquid soaps require loads of chemical preservatives to give them shelf life. We try to have our soaps in the most natural form — without synthetic chemicals — but we are exploring options in all natural liquid soaps for the future.
Yes! Our soap bars are very suitable for babies as they are all-natural and chemical-free! For babies, you should opt for are unscented bars with no essential oils. We’ve already handpicked this range for you — see it here.
No, they’re not halal certified, but the only animal ingredient used is goat milk. Our soap is all-natural, not animal-tested, contains no artificial chemicals, no petro-chemicals, no synthetic oils, and are made from vegan oils.
